Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Partake in annual closing processes
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Well-founded grasp of Journal Entry
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
General familiarity with Journal Entry Preparation
Proven knowledge of journal entries
Practical knowledge of Month-end Journal Entries
Quality experience with month end closings
Solid understanding of general ledger
Cash reconciliations experience preferred
Wide ranging experience with SAP
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Adjusting Journal Entries experience highly desired
