Works under minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General

Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area. Repair, modify, replace or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized area of aircraft.

Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data. Conduct operational tests.

Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.

Complete job assignments in a timely manner.

Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.

Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The following duties will apply based on the area to which the employee is assigned:Composites

Repair, replace, and rebuild composite parts

Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify composite parts

Accomplish wet lay-up repairs

Accomplish elevated temperature repairs

Understand quote process

Knows all standard chemicals, epoxies, sealants, resins, pre-pregs, composite repair materials and their associated MSDS

Sheet Metal

Repair, replace, and rebuild A/C component structures

Possess basic computer skills

Repair & modify flight control surfaces and components

Utilize special installation tools, such as blind rivet guns, etc.

Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify aircraft structure

Complete specialized tasks, such as flap peening, cold working, etc.

Fabricate repair parts using special shop tooling, such as brakes, stretchers, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Airframe and/or Power plant License and level of skill customarily acquired after one year as a General Mechanic, or three years of related commercial / military aircraft experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.CompensationThe full base pay range for this position is $20.00 – $33.00 (expressed as hourly for non-exempt), exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your hourly rate will be based on factors including skills, education and experience.
