In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
WIP - Work In Progress experience
Deep understanding of financial statement preparation
Comprehensive knowledge of job costing
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as an Accounting Supervisor/Assistant Controller/Controller preferred
