Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is a 726-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. In early 2014, Texas Health Fort Worth opened a new 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region. Texas Health Fort Worth has more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.

Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.

Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

Uses nursing model to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.

Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population.

Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently.

Demonstrates critical thinking.

Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.

Monitor’s patients.

Personal Accountability:

Identifies realistic and measurable annual goals for professional nursing development.

Serves as patient advocate.

Complies with personnel policies, i.e., attendance policies, ID badge, dress code, LVN Scope of Practice.

Communicates per department expectations.

Recognizes and promptly communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.

Takes responsibility in continuing to develop own professional nursing knowledge and skills.

Reports unsafe conditions and equipment in proper/timely manner.

Partnership:

Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.

Actively participates in formal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence of self and team members.

Uses Unit Based Council structure.

Flexible with scheduling to help meet departmental/patient needs.

Adapts to changes in workload assignment to meet changing needs of the individual patient or the unit.

Continuous Improvement:

Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes.

In collaboration with RN incorporates evidence-based practice and research to monitor and continuously impact outcomes.

Actively participates in unit-based programs.
