Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency – February 2025Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN’s to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on February 7, 2025.Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN’s an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.Where you will be working:Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work environment: Med/Surg DepartmentSelf-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth.Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team.Acute Med/surg Unit (35 bed unit) The Acute Med/Surg Unit cares for patients that are admitted with Acute Med/surg diagnosis, urology, limb salvage,chronic wounds, GI focus, diabetes, respiratory overflow, isolations – general remote tele that has to be monitored.Work hours: Work hours: Full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; Rotating weekends, Holidays, and on call shifts required.Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort WorthTexas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is an 815-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. Texas Health Fort Worth has a 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region and more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. Texas Health Fort Worth received national recognition for its oncology program and was named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant County. The hospital is also certified as a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Primary Heart Attack Center PHAC by the Joint Commission. Exemplar/Essay: In one-to-two pages, tell a story of a clinical situation that was especially meaningful to you as a student and that has helped shape your practice today.

Things you need for the position:

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.

Acceptance into THR residency program required.

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.

Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.

Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.
