Diploma or Equivalent required· Equivalent Specialized training in mechanic trades or a related field preferred Individuals hired into the position prior to January 1, 2003, will be grandfathered with existing education required.· 3 Years’ experience in a commercial or industrial environment and licensed as electrician, plumber or industrial maintenance mechanic certification required.· 7 Years in commercial or industrial environment without licensed electrician, plumber or industrial maintenance mechanic certification required .· 1 Year experience in a healthcare environment Preferred.· Has knowledge with chilled water systems, pneumatic tube station, computerized maintenance system, HVAC, and general plumbing.· Knowledge with fire alarms, life safety systems and inspections of fire alarm devices.· Knowledge of emergency generators and related equipment.Licenses and Certifications· DL - Driver’s License Upon Hire Required· Electrician Upon Hire Preferred· Plumber Upon Hire Preferred· Other Healthcare maintenance certification Upon Hire PreferredSkills· Proficient in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance; troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems; mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams; ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams; excellent written, verbal, and listening skills; ability work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.What You Will Do:· Provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for hospital, hospital equipment, and hospital properties utilizing the computerized maintenance management system.· Performs the duties of skill trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, mechanical, HVAC, and exterior maintenance as required.· Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, components, utilities, and the like.· Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, education opportunities, and related training.Explore our Texas Health careers site (https://jobs.texashealth.org/) for info like Benefits (https://jobs.texashealth.org/benefits) , Job Listings by Category (https://jobs.texashealth.org/professions) , recent Awards (https://jobs.texashealth.org/awards) we’ve won and more.Do you still have questions or concerns?
