This is accomplished by applying professional accounting principles and techniques in meeting assigned responsibilities and in preparing data for accounting records, financial reports, special reports, analyses of operations, etc.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESProcess and Review Project CostsReview and process CIP and Non-CIP project cost items including purchase requisitions, invoices and internal budget adjustments to ensure compliance with established procedures, regulations and vendor contract terms. Manage project cost expenditure forecasting ensuring that institutional requirements and deadlines are met.Project ReconciliationsPerforms monthly project cost reconciliations to ensure accuracy between MDACC general ledger and construction accounting sub-ledger (Timberline) ledger. Reconcile, analyze and resolve problems as they arise by coordinating a resolution of issues among Accounts Payable, Supply Chain Service, PM/PPM/PDProject Cost ReportingCollaborates with FMA by collecting appropriate and necessary project cost data using the construction accounting sub-ledger (Timberline), PeopleSoft, OBIEE, Access database, Excel spreadsheets, etc. to analyze data and participate in the preparation of project cost reporting.Project Close-out ProcessesAssist in the close-out of FPDC capital and non-capital projects working with MDACC general ledger, construction accounting sub-ledger (Timberline) and collaborating with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), General Accounting, Asset Finance to have projects closed.Signature Authority MaintenanceAssists in the maintenance of the chartfield approval authorization updates to the Fund Attribute Custom Table (FACT) through the Chartfield Attribute Tool (CAT). Maintains Signature Authority Matrix, as needed.Other duties as assigned.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field. Two years of accountant experience required with a Bachelor's in Business Administration or related field. One year of accountant experience required with a Bachelor's in Accounting.
