Assistant Facilities Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with 3-5 years of experience, preferably in healthcare facility renovations or similar complex environments in roles with progressive responsibilities (e.g. Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager). They should excel at coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and healthcare personnel, to minimize disruption to active healthcare operations. A deep understanding of healthcare facility standards, particularly those related to safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance, is essential.The candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills. Capable of managing documentation with attention to detail. Experience with project management software and tools. Additionally, they should have demonstrated the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting, problem-solve in fast-paced environments, and be proactive in identifying risks, and opportunities for improvement.A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is highly desirable. PMP or other relevant certifications will be an advantage. Experience managing multiple renovation projects in active healthcare settings, particularly involving infection control risk assessments (ICRA), and a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget are key differentiators.SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the Assistant Project Manager is to provide coordination of project activities and administrative activities throughout construction project execution. Under direct guidance manages project communication, document control, project logs and project reports. Assures compliance with current institutional and industry standards. Assist with the coordination and implementation of construction projects. Provides support to Project Managers with onsite project management, coordination, and project controls. Assists with construction billings, project cash flows, cost tracking, correspondences and project closeouts. Consults and coordinates with architects, project managers and MD Anderson support groups regarding project scope, phasing, outages, purchase requisitions preparation, submittals, pay applications, request for information (RFI), punch list management, and other construction administration and workflows. Monitors and updates project data in the PMIS including schedules, and other meta data. Plans, develops and coordinates resources under direct supervision. Assists with construction billings, project cash flows, cost tracking, correspondences and project closeouts.Compliance/Regulations Assist Manager with the coordination and implementation of construction projects, assuring compliance with current institutional and industry standards, as well as contractual compliance and relationships for the assigned projects.Documentation/Recordkeeping Under direct guidance manage the electronic document archive and storage of communications, project logs, and activity status reports. Ensure that all project documentation records are organized and stored properly.Other duties as assigned.Associate's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related. Four years of construction or project management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
