Description We are offering an opportunity for a Construction Accountant in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also oversee customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.Responsibilities: Prepare and submit monthly construction draws to lenders Prepare financial statements for development and construction projects Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany and balance sheet accounts monthly Import, process and record ACH payments for construction-related contractor invoices Promptly make deposits and record cash transactions in Sage cash management Prepare and record journal entries, including tax and insurance accruals Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger monthly Prepare monthly reports for the construction department and record budget revisions Maintain accounting files within the department as needed Prepare audit/tax schedules and provide transaction support as requested Coordinate with construction and development departments on various tasks and projects. Requirements Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Accountant or in a similar role. Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. Knowledge and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries is necessary. Must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel for maintaining and updating financial data. Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential for maintaining timely and accurate financial records. Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for managing accounting functions is required. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with various departments. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying discrepancies in financial data. Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and checking financial information is crucial. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards in the construction industry is necessary. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
