The Engineer will support the cyber security posture of a Federal Agency that is working to leverage cloud solutions to meet Zero Trust (ZT) principles. The Engineer be responsible for overall administration, operations and maintenance of a Linux system running Illumio Core in an Azure GovCloud environment, monitoring end-to-end system health, maintenance tasks such as patching, troubleshooting as needed and automation of deployment, scaling and monitoring of applications and services.This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.Your future duties and responsibilities: Responsible for operations and maintenance (O&M) of a cloud hosted in an Azure high impact environment Security of deployed cloud services; ensure all devices are properly hardened and configured Working with agency staff to submit change requests for things such as firewall updates, network changes, hardware/software approvals, etc. Deployment of backend infrastructure to include all hosts, virtual servers and applicable cloud services Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues Monitor environment/network performance Encryption and key management Perform recurring O&M maintenance activities such as OS security patching Create automation of tasks like Software Install/upgrades, OS Patching, Server build using Shell/Python scripting ATO authorization support Perform infrastructure IAM activities; Azure user management Document, communicate and recommend steps to resolve the risks and issues associated with security vulnerabilities across the Customer IT environment; Assist in the development of SOPs, recommend best practices to assist the agency in developing their Azure governance model and support IT operations Work closely with engineering and other key stakeholders and participate in technical meetings with agency technical specialists Apply technical expertise in implementing efficiencies and creating strategies to better detect and respond to cyber incidents by prioritizing mitigation actionsRequired qualifications to be successful in this role: Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required as well as successful passing of CGI background check prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a DHS/CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance required Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience. Four additional years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree Experience with at least one public cloud service provider (Microsoft Azure), including understanding of software defined networks, servers, and storage - certifications in cloud (Azure) are preferred, but will not be considered in lieu of experience Experience with Linux/RHEL servers in virtualized environments Experience with Illumio Core (Micro Segmentation principles) Experience configuring and integrating COTS software in support of enterprise security solutions Must be able to analyze and clarify customer technical inquiries Must have strong communication skills and a solid understanding of IT Security concepts to include vulnerability & patch management, security operations, Incident Management and Incident response Must be able to work with other team members and groups, work with competing priorities, and possess strong customer focus Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels and demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively work with government officials and program office stakeholders.Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required: Relevant certifications: Azure, CISSP, CISM, CISA Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP 800-37 - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137 - Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and OrganizationsCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
