Together, we are on a quest to change banking for good.Sr. Manager - Operational Risk Management - Business ContinuitySenior Manager, Business Continuity ProgramAs a Sr. Risk Manager in the second line of defense’s enterprise Business Continuity Program you will be responsible for working with business and technology partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One. You will be a team leader that inspires and empowers your team through openness and inclusion to broadly think about risk.Sr. Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow the Sr. Risk Manager to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence their business partners. As Capital One evolves to meet the ever-changing technology landscape, so does our Risk Managers. A successful Risk Manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working, laws / regulations and good Risk Management practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept.Sr. Risk Managers have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately manage risks within the enterprise Business Continuity Program.The successful candidate will be distinguished by excellent communications skills, a passion for delivering exceptional results, and a commitment to thought leadership.Responsibilities to include:

Effectively challenge the first line of defense and business partners on technology risk-taking and risk assessments

Stay current on the changing regulatory environment and understanding of effective disaster recovery strategies to establish and maintain the Business Continuity Control Program technology requirements and framework

Provide oversight and guidance on technology controls including policies, standards, and processes to minimize risks

Proactively engage technology partners and team members to ensure risk management practices and controls are applied effectively

Provide oversight and guidance to technology partners on effective disaster recovery testing strategies

Proactively lead analysis to identify technology risks and trends for the lines of business (LOBs)

Excellent communication skills to influence executives of key technology risks and actions needed

Quickly understand new applications and technologies

Set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management

At least 5 years of experience working with internal business customers

At least 3 years of experience in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Management or Information Technology

At least 5 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

At least 6 years of experience in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance or Assurance within the financial industry

At least 6 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional programs in Risk

Familiarity with AWS and Cloud controls

Industry technology certification - AWS certification
