Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a General Accountant to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through various accounting functions. This includes maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, processing invoices, tracking payments, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts in compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Process invoices and track payments effectively. Handle vendor and customer inquiries. Prepare and maintain records for accounts payable and receivable transactions. Support the preparation of financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Assist in analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies and trends. Perform bank reconciliations and verify the accuracy of transactions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data. Monitor and record business expenses, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and company policies. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as requested. Maintain organized financial records and documentation. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing and data entry. Requirements Possess at least 1 year of experience in general accounting. Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing. Knowledgeable about bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Capable of preparing and posting journal entries. Experienced in month-end close procedures. Familiar with Made2Manage software. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. Have experience in managing aged receivables.
