MSN or MASTERS WITH BSN REQUIREDMINIMUM TWO YEARS EDUCATION EXPERIENCEJob Summary:Supports and facilitates a nursing education program for the Washington Region. In partnership with the Market Nursing Officer supports the vision and strategy for regional nursing education in collaboration with other nursing and physician leaders. Leads nursing education team. Responsible for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanentes Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately, including required reporting, to observed fraud or abuse.Essential Responsibilities:
Leads and manages nursing education staff in a cost-effective manner. Manages nursing competency program. Facilitates program to deliver sound nursing education that is evidence based. Reviews research, recommends, and facilitates integration of sound results appropriately into nursing practice via education activities. Serves as a consultant within organization in area of expertise.
Responsible for reaching goals and objectives for regional nursing educational program.
Collaborates with staff regarding nursing educational program activity.
Assesses nursing educational needs in the region.
Collaborates with regional nursing leadership and administration to prioritize educational agenda. Establishes and maintains nursing education network in community and the organization. Writes education curriculums; develops audit tools; teaches classes as necessary.
Collaborates with outside agencies to establish and maintain nurse internship/preceptor programs. Develops implementation plans for new policies, procedures, and guidelines as they are approved.
Collaborates with patient educators to ensure consistent philosophy between nursing education and patient education.
Provides direction and support to nursing workforce initiatives in collaboration with regional workforce team(s).
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
Minimum two (2) years of experience with development/implementation of education curriculum.
Education
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
License, Certification, Registration
Registered Nurse License (Washington) OR Compact License: Registered Nurse
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to utilize the principles, methodologies and practices of adult education, instructional design, evaluation and research.
Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills for program coordination/evaluation and working with groups.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of presentation skills and education and facilitation techniques.
Computer literacy required.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience with development/implementation of education curriculum in an out patient setting preferred.
Masters degree in education, nursing administration or health care field preferred.
