Requisition Summary
Continual improvement of manufacturing process safety, quality, productivity and cost.
Preparation, coordination, and implementation of expense and capital budget projects.
Reviews new and revised product designs to assess impact on manufacturing processes then readies facility and processes for production volumes.
Plant layouts, facility rearrangements, and production equipment design, installation and validation.
Monitors maintenance activity to ensure machine capability, reliability and durability is maintained.
Continuous process improvement through application of Lean and Six Sigma methodology.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Prompt mitigation of identified safety, quality and productivity issues.
Research quality problems to identify opportunities for improvement.
Define how assembly processes should be performed to assemble parts to specification safely and efficiently with input from production personnel.
Determine process variables which require monitoring to determine if the processes are in control and capable.
Research capital budget ideas, prepare justification, design/purchase equipment, and coordinate installation.
Review major product changes and provide input to Design Engineering on manufacturability and develop manufacturing processes.
Rearrange assembly areas and design new production equipment to accommodate product changes and/or improve process flow.
Qualifications & Skills
Engineering degree required (Mechanical or Manufacturing/Industrial preferred).
