Lake Cushman is a 4,010-acre lake and reservoir located 45 minutes north of Olympia, Washington. Lake Cushman is known for its beautiful crystal-clear blue water, as well as thick stands of hemlock, fir and cedar trees. The lake has more than 25 miles of shoreline, offering everything from an upscale waterfront lifestyle to a more remote “off the grid” experience. Lake Cushman has 3,150 lots or parcels, subleased by approximately 2,500 households, and many who spend vacations and weekends enjoying the area. The Lake Cushman Maintenance Company (LCMC) is the homeowner’s association for the Lake Cushman Development. LCMC operates under a board of directors with a 2024 budget of $6,164,673, including an HOA budget of $4,024,537 and a water budget of $2,140,136, and employs approximately 36 employees at the peak of summer, including seasonal employees. LCMC departments include Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Financial, Security, Support Services, and Golf Course.

Working under the general direction of the General Manager, the Financial Manager is the sole FTE in the Financial Department, and performs a variety of routine and complex administrative and technical accounting and finance functions in maintaining the fiscal systems of the LCMC, including coding of financial and accounting information in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cashiering, as well as establishing and implementing controls, procurement policies and providing auditing oversight. This position will work directly with the Board of Directors, General Manager and Department Managers in developing annual budgets and ensuring appropriate department oversight, utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position’s duties will include paying all department invoices, working with a CPA and Auditor to file tax returns and complete audit preparation.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field, and five years of related experience is required, OR any combination of education and work experience directly related to the skills and knowledge needed in the fulfillment of the duties identified for this position. The ideal candidate will have experience with nonprofit organizations and/or homeowners associations, including knowledge and experience in HOA software systems.
