Music Movement and Arts Studio is looking for a dedicated Music Teacher to join our enrichment program as an independent contractor. Training is provided, with pay up to $50 per hour after completing training. Reliable transportation is essential as lessons will be held at various locations across Seattle, including the requirement to arrive at our Ballard location by 8 AM on weekends. Toll fees for travel will be compensated.
Job Description:
We need someone with a strong background in music education and a genuine passion for inspiring young minds through music.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging music lessons tailored to preschool-aged children.
Introduce students to basic musical concepts, instruments, and rhythms.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and self-expression.
Collaborate with educators to integrate music into the enrichment curriculum.
Prepare students for performances and showcase their progress.
Maintain and care for musical instruments and equipment.
Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
Participate in professional development and training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
Experience teaching music to young children, ideally in an enrichment or early childhood setting.
Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments.
Strong classroom management and adaptability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching.
Ability to pass background checks.
Preferred:
Certification in music education or a related field.
Familiarity with various musical styles and genres.
Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
Experience working in a childcare facility, as a nanny, or in an afterschool enrichment program.
Availability for weekend hours at our Ballard location.
