Spanish Immersion Preschool looking for a creative, energetic and attentive addition to our staff. We are a small school with a mixed age group of children 2-6 years old. Ideal candidate will have a love for children, art and music. Be very attentive and observant of children and the learning environment and a fast learner. Must be a fluent, or Native Spanish speaker, as all instruction and interaction with children is in Spanish. Playing of a musical instrument is a plus.
Minimum requirements
- native or fluent Spanish speaker
- experience working with small children 2-6 years
- complete a back ground check
- have or work towards the minimum 30 Stars training or ECE certificate
- complete a CPR/First Aid/ Blood borne Pathogen training
- TB test
Our curriculum is fast paced and very interactive with a focus on the arts; music, dance, drama/play and visual arts. We are very passionate about our work and we are looking for someone who is interested in learning new teaching methods and who is dedicated to helping children learn and grow in a positive atmosphere. This position requires a person to be proactive and diligent.
Teaching a second language requires more than just fluency, but also an understanding about how children acquire language. The best candidate will have a background in Bilingual education or be open to learning about this process/will seek out learning opportunities to better understand how children learn a second language in a preschool setting while working with us.
Position to start is for an Assistant Teacher/Co-Teacher but can grow into a Lead Teaching position based on motivation and performance.
Position to begin Early to Mid March.
