POSITION PURPOSE The Event and Center Support Coordinator will assist the UW School of Law’s academic centers with events tied to academic initiatives and programming, including guest lectures, conferences, symposia, the faculty colloquium series and workshops. This role will also support obtaining approval and documentation for continued legal education (CLE) credits.Reporting to the Director for Marketing and Communications this position will participate in the development and execution of the types of programing listed above. This position will work closely with the Event Marketing Manager, members of the advancement and finance teams, and center faculty to support the operations of these centers.Beyond event-related work, projects may include gathering and preparing materials, organizing workflows, and work related to helping promote the centers as areas of excellence.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Events Production and Management - 50%

Assist with planning, logistics and material support for events, workshops, symposia and colloquia.

Provide support at events, workshops and symposia.

Partner with UW Law's Event Marketing Manager to coordinate larger event registrations, timelines, invites, catering and set-up.

Partner with Marketing and Communications to promote events.

Back-up facilities coordinator on event supportOperations - 30%

Assist with day-to-day center activities that include organizing, scheduling and correspondence.

Assist with travel arrangements for event speakers and help process travel reimbursements.

Purchase supplies and materials needed to support centers.

Partner on planning and budgeting needs.

Help improve workflows and processes.Communication - 20%In partnership with Marketing and Communications:

Collect assets (photos, captions, descriptions) to assist with social media and other digital promotions of the centers.

Assist in Center-specific newsletter creation and distribution. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School graduation and 4 years of progressively responsible work experience involving public contact such as sales promotion, public information, or in the hospitality industry OR equivalent education/experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience planning events, conferences and/or workshops.

Computer and technology expertise, including proficiency working with Microsoft Word and

Excel for the generation of correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, attendee tracking and form development; ability to organize email mailing lists in Excel.

General knowledge of social media platforms.

Strong interpersonal skills and customer service; a professional manner with the ability to exercise oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communications, verbal and written, one on one and group, etc.; the ability to communicate in a direct and professional manner and be comfortable engaging in dialog that resolves differences.

Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
