Description
A-Team Solutions LLC is seeking Registered Nurses for full time contract positions at the VA hospital in Seattle, WA. Coverage is needed for MedSurg positions; to start upon credentialing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge and ability to carry out patient care duties for patient population including Telemetry medicine surgery and acute rehab. Technically proficient in preforming and completing assigned duties in providing care for patient populations
Knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned patient care based on the patient\'s condition to use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments and to accurately recognize report and record relevant patient information
Prepares and administers prescribed medications and preforms treatments according to establish policies/procedures. Observes for physical and or emotional changes in patient\'s condition from prescribed medications/treatments. Promptly and accurately documenting noted changes and reporting any deviations from normal to charge nurse, ANM, NM, nursing supervisor and/or provider
Knowledge and ability to recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations seek immediate assistance and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Graduate of an approved school/college of nursing required. BSN preferred (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
An active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory.
Minimum 2 years medical surgical/acute care nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Must be authorized to work in U.S.

Responsibilities:
Registered Nurse -Surgical Unit R6, (0.57-0.9 FTE, day and night shift rotation)
As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children\'s policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient\'s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children\'s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e., Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, Workforce Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) etc.

River 6 Surgical Unit is a dynamic 43 bed acute care floor that cares for pediatric patients across the age continuum. We work with many services, including Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Organ Failure and Transplant, Dialysis, and Neonatology. Our unit receives transfers from NICU, PICU, and CVICU; offering a wide variety high-acuity assignments to keep nurses challenged and engaged.
On River 6 Surgical, new hires will join a passionate team that fosters growth and development, from RN-led committees, to pediatric certification, mentoring, precepting, and so much more. Nurses have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients who undergo multiple surgeries through their childhood.
Nurses are supported by preceptors, charge nurses, unit-based educators, clinical specialists through an orientation tailored to their experience and needs.
Requirements:
Required Education/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
Required Credentials:
Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below.) BLS must be maintained in current status until the incumbent obtains the appropriate Life Support Life Support Education required for their practice area (refer to requirements per practice area below) NOTE: Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above. Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position.
Nurses working in the following areas are required to successfully obtain PEARS within 6 months of employment, and subsequently maintain at all times: Acute Care Float, Apheresis Services, Bellevue, Cancer Care Unit, Dialysis, Hematology & Oncolo
