Find your future with us.Boeing is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Techno-Economic Analysis to join our team in Seattle, WA.Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including experienced or senior level engineers.The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed assessments of alternative fuels, carbon removal technologies, and new technologies in the context of sustainable aviation. This will include evaluation of economic feasibility, life cycle impacts, and alignment with sustainability goals. This role will include ownership and responsibility for integration of technically credible technoeconomic assessments into the Boeing Sustainability & Future Mobility organization. They will use and improve existing methods to evaluate the economic sustainability of aircraft systems and related technologies. They will also prepare reports on the expected economic performance of subject areas to internal and external customers.Position Responsibilities:

Perform technoeconomic analysis supporting technical studies and research and development aligned to Sustainability & Future Mobility (S&FM) objectives

Provide technical oversight and though leadership for any technoeconomic assessment support needed in S&FM

Support development of technology roadmaps through integration of key finding and technical models developed in the studies

Research and apply new technologies to improve the sustainability of current and future products.

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions

Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture

Communication of results to internal stakeholders, and external customers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Experience in conducting technoeconomic analysis, financial modeling, or economic evaluations

Experience in research and development for new technologies in an academic or professional setting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience with systems modeling, which could include energy systems, thermodynamic models, life cycle assessment, system dynamics etc.

Academic or industry experience focused on sustainable aviation or decarbonizing transportation or heavy industry

Experience with alternative fuels for transportation such as sustainable aviation fuels, hydrogen, or renewable electricity

Graduate-level work in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, sustainability and/or energy

Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities

Typical Education/Experience:Experienced (Level 3):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
