Seeking chef and/or pastry chef in the San Juan Islands. Canoe Island French Camp, a French language and outdoor summer camp, located on a private 45-acre island, is looking for a chef to cook excellent meals for 80 enthusiastic campers and staff. Our kitchen staff includes our head chef/kitchen manager and a second professional chef who is either skilled in savory dishes or breads/baked goods, along with four volunteer, teenage assistants who help with prep and dishes. The kitchen team prepares 3 meals a day from scratch; the meals are often French or French-inspired.
This position is from late April through mid-September. The chef position is 6 days a week. Pay is $185 per day. Private room and board in lovely house overlooking the Salish Sea. Amenities include swimming pool, tennis court, kayaks, canoes.
The ideal candidate should have experience professional kitchen experience or baking experience. Experience with French cuisine a plus.
