Part-Time or Full-Time Shift Lead

Olympia, WA

Job Summary: The Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring all standards and policies are maintained and upheld in the retail store by providing excellent leadership and guidance to all retail staff. Shift Leaders are responsible for providing and ensuring excellent customer service and uncompromised quality of product.

Job Description:

- Ability to handle tricky and/or difficult situations promptly and appropriately

- An expert on all products and is able to educate customers and employees

- Ensures a clean and presentable work environment is maintained (interior and exterior of the store)

- Ensures the production of high-quality beverages in a timely manner

- Ability to taste deviances from our quality standards and is able to troubleshoot and remedy

- Advanced knowledge of register functions and has the ability to assist co-workers in correcting mistakes,

preparing refunds and solving problems

- Responsible for assessing appropriate levels of cash in the registers, making change, exchanging tips, and counting the

till at the beginning and end of the day.

- Participates in the opening and closing of the store. In addition to performing all tasks completed by baristas, shift

leaders are responsible for checking to ensure that all work has been completed

- Troubleshoots any machine malfunctions and is able to solve the issue, or bring in the appropriate person to solve it

- Continually seeks out ways to expand coffee and espresso knowledge such as participation in company cuppings,

seminars and trainings

- Other duties as requested

Requirements:

6 months to 1 year Barista experience

Advanced Espresso skills

Language skills

Basic mathematical skills

Problem solving skills and reasoning ability

Washington State Food Handler’s Card
