Patient Care Coordinator- Pediatric Dental Office

Greenlake Kids Dentistry, an established pediatric dental office, has an opportunity for a FULL-TIME, REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT to fill a role on our admin team as PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR AND DENTAL ASSISTANT FLOATER.

You are a Registered Dental Assistant in Washington State with experience working in a pediatric dental office. Our ideal candidate is also familiar with Dentrix practice management software. Bonus points if you are also familiar with the Weave communication platform. We value an employee who is dependable, self-motivated, caring, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and has excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Primary responsibilities are as a Patient Care Coordinator. You will be responsible for managing patient scheduling, payment collection, email correspondence, referrals, and various administrative tasks. Additionally, you will serve as a Registered Dental Assistant Floater, stepping in to cover patient appointments in the event of unexpected absences on our Dental Assistant team.

Position Expectations:

Patient Scheduling: Efficiently manage the schedule to maximize the number of appointments per day and minimize gaps. Schedule patients' next appointments following exams and assist in rescheduling as needed. Respond to patient inquiries via phone and email.

Patient Payment Collection: Collect balances owed at checkout, provide insurance estimates, verify/update insurance information, and post patient payments accurately. Address patient billing inquiries and make balance due calls when necessary.

A/R Support: Confirm patient insurance policies, review and follow up on declined insurance claims, and assist with insurance payment processing.

Email Correspondence: Manage the office email account, responding to patient and office inquiries promptly. Handle referrals, image requests, and document uploads as required.

Referrals: Scan patient referrals and manage documentation accordingly.

Miscellaneous: Assist with general office chores and support the dental assistant team as a floater to cover patient appointments during unexpected absences.

Qualifications:

- Current Dental Assistant Registration in Washington State.

- Proficiency in performing Child Prophy and providing oral hygiene instruction.

- X-ray capture proficiency.

- Ability to document exam findings accurately.

- Knowledge of dental instrument sterilization procedures.

- Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office).

- Experience with Dentrix practice management software.

Schedule:

- Monday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

- Tuesday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
