Construction Project Coordinator

Asphalt Patch Systems is hiring for a Project Coordinator! Under the direct supervision of the Sales Manager, the Project Coordinator assists in the successful daily operations of the asphalt and concrete crews, including project management, scheduling, dispatching, quality control, and safety enforcement. This position also assists the sales staff with estimating and bidding future work.

About Us:

Asphalt Patch Systems has been the premier paving contractor for Pierce, King and Thurston counties since 1981. We are a family-owned business providing services in asphalt, concrete, and saw cutting in both the private and public sectors. Our asphalt services include utility and residential patching, as well as parking lot maintenance and custom driveways. We also provide concrete curbing, sidewalks, patios, driveways, and custom stamping.

Essential Functions:

1. Works with sales staff to plan and maintain efficient work schedules for all crews.

2. Assists in dispatching crews daily; maintains communication with foremen throughout the day to update routes and work schedules as needed.

3. Communicates with vendors and suppliers to ensure material and supplies are available and ready for use at the jobsite.

4. Visits job sites with sales staff prior to dispatch, during production, and upon job completion to ensure quality and safety standards are being met.

5. Works with sales staff to ensure project deadlines are being met in a timely manner.

6. Communicates effectively with peers, foremen, crewmembers, contractors/subcontractors, inspectors, and general public.

7. Assists the sales and accounting staff with timely completion of job-related paperwork and processes, including contracts, submittals, timesheets, invoices, and purchase orders.

8. Coordinates with sales and accounting staff to ensure jobs are completed, billed, and closed out in a timely fashion.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This position may require seasonal overtime. The core schedule is Monday through Friday, but days and hours of work vary according to demand. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Previous experience or coursework in the construction management or project management field

2. Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

3. Current and valid US driver’s license

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

1. Must hold a current and valid US driver’s license, and be insurable.

2. Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
