Job Description
Woodland Mod is a small (but busy!), locally owned business in the heart of the historical district of Ballard in Seattle, Washington. We are a shop that specializes in highly curated, well-designed and high-quality products from around the world. Our categories include home décor, bath/body, stationary, children’s products, books, plants and a large selection of framed art.
We are seeking a team member with demonstrated organizational skills, someone who can maintain a consistent schedule, and is also an experienced front of house retail associate with strong customer service skills. Full time desired, but flexible on time of day worked. We seek a mature, positive, focused and energetic team player to contribute to the success of our store and customer experience.
Job Summary:
- Main job duties include receiving deliveries, unpacking and inspecting merchandise, tagging/entering items for inventory control purposes, organizing items for quick retrieval by sales associates, as well as on-line order processing.
- Thoroughness: Has strong ability to stay focused on accuracy and maintain a high level of detail while maintaining thousands of SKUs
- Ensures an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, internally and externally.
- Plays an important role in maintaining a clean, organized and profitable store by ensuring merchandise is accurately tracked, moved to floor efficiently and effectively.
- Though this role will spend most of their time managing products in storeroom areas, applicant will spend some time on the sales floor answering customer questions and assisting sales staff members.
- Applicant should have demonstrated strong time management and critical thinking skillset.
Responsibilities:
· Orchestrates deliveries, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
· Effective, clear, communication with team, manager & owner regarding daily activities that decrease the likelihood of re-work, confusion or inaccuracies with inventory & pricing
· Data Entry: Ensures merchandise is accurately processed in to inventory system, tagged and stored correctly based on guidelines provided by management
· Ensures tasks and daily activities are executed efficiently in accordance with store priorities & branding, with feedback from owner/manager; reprioritizes as needed.
· Organizes and rotates back stock for easy replenishment & proper storage based on product durability and environmental sensitivities
· Processes all incoming web orders on-time; accurately pick, pack, ship products to customer using neat, cost effective packing that reflects brand positively, and prevents breakage/loss of product
· Maintains organizational cleanliness for all the backroom areas and work stations
· Ensures compliance with recycling and waste programs and schedules
· Role models exceptional standards for a positive retail experience with an understanding and concern for how the back room operations impacts our customer experience and profit/loss
· Creates a positive internal and external customer experience by demonstrating empathy, patience, positivity and professionalism under pressure
· Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality; loyal team player
· Communicates effectively, both written and verbal, with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, shifts and delays; provides daily progress updates
· Provides and accepts constructive feedback · Partners with Management regarding needs aiming to increase effectiveness
· Performs other duties as assigned
· Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including nights and weekends and some holidays

· Previous Retail/Customer Service experience preferred and professional references required
