Offer contingent on position being awarded. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for VA members and their families. The Critical Care RN is responsible for providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, monitoring their vital signs, administering medications, and implementing life-saving interventions. They collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support families during challenging times. Key Responsibilities Perform thorough assessments of critically ill patients, monitoring vital signs and clinical changes continuously. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed, while observing for side effects and effectiveness. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the patient’s specific needs. Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track patient status and respond promptly to any critical changes. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery processes. Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as necessary, maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and sterile environment in the critical care setting. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
