The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences within the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design at West Virginia University is seeking applications for an Assistant Greenhouse Manager.
About the Opportunity
This position will assist the Greenhouse Manager in operating the greenhouse, plant growth chambers, walk-in coolers, plant collection, and freezers as well as managing student workers. The Assistant Greenhouse Manager reports to the WVU Greenhouse Manager and assumes the responsibility of the manager in their absence.

What You\'ll Do:
Manage the greenhouse facilities (the greenhouse, plant growth chambers, walk-in cooler, and freezers).
Monitor the heating, cooling, humidifying, watering, and venting systems for proper maintenance and operation of the controlled environment facilities. When necessary, perform or supervise repairs on the aforementioned systems.
When requested by researchers or as needed, fertilize, propagate, weed, and irrigate in the plant collection.
Scout disease and perform pest management application, properly handling and storing pesticides.
Under the Greenhouse Manager\'s approval, assist faculty in research projects.
Maintain records of supplies and materials such as pesticides, growing media, plant materials, and equipment for greenhouse facilities.
Document greenhouse utilization and issues. Present potential solutions and recommendations for improvement.
Provide care and maintenance of a wide variety of plants with varying growing requirements.
Assist the Greenhouse Manager and Director of Controlled Environments (DCE) in recruiting, hiring, and training student workers. Coordinate and supervise student workers for daily greenhouse operation (irrigation, fertilization, cleaning, and maintenance of greenhouse).
Respond to alarms and alerts after business hours, and report to the Greenhouse Manager in case of an emergency.
Collaborate with building department staff and University Facilities to ensure standard operations at nights and on weekends.
Assist the Greenhouse Manager or individuals in-charge with educational activities such as tours and workshops.
Maintain a positive working environment for our faculty, staff, student workers and greenhouse users. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner all important issues with the Greenhouse Manager, faculty, staff and greenhouse users.

About the Opportunity
The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Research (UGR) is to connect undergraduate students who have strong and committed interests in research and creative work to faculty members, programs, and research-related opportunities that are aligned with their interests both on campus and off. The Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP) coordinator works in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Research to implement the RAP program from inception to completion and to include all programmatic aspects, such as, general programming (e.g., recruitment, advising, time card monitoring, hiring of work study students, workshops, training, curriculum, speakers, ), mentoring and meeting with students, meeting with faculty and researchers, program advertisement and application, participant tracking, search for continuation funding, and proposal writing. The program coordinator may supervise one or more graduate assistants or undergraduate students.

What You\'ll Do
Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP)
Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the Research Apprenticeship Program.
Plan, manage, and actively advertise the Research Apprenticeship Program to the WVU community including students, faculty, researchers, and staff.
Plan and implement strategies to recruit students and faculty mentors to the program.
Provide guidance and mentoring for the students beginning in research through RAP.
Aid in the development of the curriculum and teach the RAP accompanying courses (as needed).
Coordinate and manage the educational aspects of RAP throughout the year: daily contact with instructors, students, and faculty mentors.
Lead weekly meetings with RAP instructors (graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate teaching assistants).
Assist students with work-study processes (i.e. hiring, timecard management, compliance).
Keep track of participants activities through biweekly reports.
Coordinate and manage social events for RAP participants and faculty mentors.
Present the program across the campus community.
Assess participant\' s skills and abilities.
Assess participant\'s concerns and refer as appropriate.
Manage student\'s files.
Maintain program\'s files.

West Virginia University College of Law invites applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty position to join our Legal Writing Program in the 2025-2026 academic year. Legal writing faculty are non-tenure-track voting members of the faculty and are appointed at the rank of Teaching Associate Professor and are eligible for promotion. Faculty in the legal writing program typically teach two sections of the coordinated and required first-year Legal Analysis, Reasoning, and Writing (LARW) course, which is three credits in the fall and two credits in the spring. The new faculty member will be supported by and work collaboratively with other experienced faculty teaching in the program. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach additional courses, including but not limited to appellate advocacy, judicial writing, or a judicial externship course.

The Center for Consumer Law and Education is a joint consumer assistance project between Marshall University (MU) and WVU College of Law. The CCLE coordinates the development of consumer law, policy, and education research to support and serve consumers. We are committed to empowering and transforming communities.The College of Law at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for an Assistant Director of the Center for Consumer Law and Education which is servicing both WVU Law School and Marshall University, beginning July 1, 2024.
The primary areas of responsibility are service to CCLE (80%) and teaching at WVU College of Law(20%).
The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active West Virginia Start Bar license and membership
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Oversee ongoing and new projects, ensuring they align with CCLE\'s joint mission and goals serving both WVU and MU. This includes the Investment Simulation, Financial EmpowerED, Consumer Law Luminary Fellowship Program, CCLE Awareness Events, and the continuing projects including the People\'s Law School, \"How to Navigate a Magistrate Court Claim\" website and other existing projects
2. Collaboration Facilitation: Foster collaboration between the directors, faculty, students, and external partners involved in various initiatives, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
