West Virginia University Transportation Services is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Bus Driver II position.

As a Temporary Bus Driver II, you will provide transportation services to the University community and its visitors. You will assist in the development and design of routes to meet the various transportation needs of a major institution.

PAY GRADE -17

Assignment Length: Approximately 8.5

Work Hours:37.5

What you'll do:

Arrange route schedules to meet daily University demands with supervisory personnel. Drive assigned bus on scheduled route and is responsible for quality service and riders' safety while on the bus

Arrange route schedules and trip tickets for campus tours, in-state charters and out-of-state charter trips. Responsible for delivering quality service and riders' safety while on the bus

Inspect assigned bus and is responsible for safe operating conditions of the bus. Maintain bus in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, including exterior and interior cleaning (interior cleaning requires the use of hazardous waste cleaning methods in certain cases), fueling/oil, touch-up paint, change and rotate tires, install chains during inclement weather, report and coordinate repair maintenance deemed necessary to ensure the safe operation of the bus fleet

Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school education or equivalent. Training in public relations and hazardous materials cleaning is preferred

A minimum of 1 year of experience involving:

Driving experience required, preferably in congested and/or residential areas

Preferred experience- dealing with the public; operating disability equipment; bus maintenance (i.e., tires, chains, fluids); planning and executing road trips; record keeping for logs and expense tracking

Requirements

CPR/first aid certification preferred

Commercial driver's license training and certification. Required by state law

Certification with disability services equipment preferred
