To provide customers with the highest quality service by providing consistent customer service and resolution in order to ensure timely release and/or inbound or outbound movement of freight/cargo. May proactively lead and guide team members ensuring successful achievement of operational objectives.

Provide impeccable customer service

Prepare, analyze, and/or submit documentation to the appropriate parties (U.S. Customs, agents, clients) in order to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to customs

Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems which could delay the timely release or movement of freight

Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure that agents exceed the customers' service requirements

Resolve banking and letter of credit problems

Advise customers on payment terms.

Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and/or complete accounting adjustment forms for review.

Resolve billing issues, coordinate post entry activity on customer's behalf.

Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.

Perform route cause analysis as directed by the Account Administrator.

Coordinate post-entry activities on the customer's behalf

Manage the entry verification process.

Access clients systems (external systems) as necessary.

Correspond with business partners in various mediums to include written, phone or e-mail.

Produce operational trend reports

Keep business partners apprised of the exception process.

Pre alerts - receive and respond as needed per customer SOP.

Maintain general knowledge of FedEx products and services

Interact with customers, internal staff/departments and management of all levels.

Support Account Administrators with account management activities (exception logs, special spreadsheets).

Perform entry reconciliation as needed

Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customer's front-line personnel

Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Administration and Customs Trade process to support a small office structure.

Access clients systems (external systems) as necessary.

Produce operational trend reports

Sort and assign department workload if required.

Facilitate entry processing, as well as pre arrival and post arrival exception resolution.

Performs other duties as assigned. Paid Training Provided.

HS Diploma or GED required. 24 months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience required. Required - MS Office, Outlook, Office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner). Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Organizational Skills. Inter-personal skills. Problem solving Skills. Handle high volume of work. Handle time sensitive work. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Able to work on a team. Proficient in HTS classification & familiar with the harmonized tariff system. Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations & other federal regulations and requirements with respect to specific area of expertise.

  • Summary Serves as Assistant General Manager (AGM) in the ATO; Air Traffic Services; Western Service Area, Seattle District Office, responsible for planning and directing multiple activities and programs in a complex matrix organization in a specific Air Traffic District assigned to the highest facility-level within the Seattle District. The AGM shares full managerial responsibility and authority, reporting to the General Manager (GM) and acts in the absence of the GM, as required. Responsibilities Applies extensive knowledge/experience in management of terminal/enroute air traffic facilities to integrate air traffic operations, support services and administrative programs to advance the tactical use of concepts and technologies to achieve the strategic goals of ATO and FAA. Ensures that all district operational and support plans are integrated w/the operational philosophy of the ATS directorate at all levels. Provides input and guidance on policies, standards, and procedures as regards to all district activities, to ensure the safe, secure and efficient use of airspace. Identifies information needs, training requirements, and ad hoc and recurring reporting requirements to include reporting to the GM. Applies experience in managing and directing air traffic operations and/or support activities to maintain close connectivity w/field facility operations and support activities throughout the District. Ensures GM and district staff are able to respond quickly to unexpected and emergency situations. Provides a timely, accurate, unfiltered flow of information up the management chain. Responds to stakeholder concerns by focusing on systemic issues, professionalism, training, and system efficiency. Applies a comprehensive understanding of the principles of management and strategic planning to plan, direct, coordinate, evaluate and manage the operational and support activities of a highly technical matrix organization consisting of ATMs and SMs. Works on complex projects and programs based on the objectives of the organization along w/the GM. Responsible for strategic and tactical planning, communicating the organization’s vision/objectives, setting priorities, coaching, and developing staff and organizational capabilities. Solicits feedback from the SMs and ATMs on shared responsibilities for safety, efficiency and a systems approach in the performance of the NAS. Assists the GM as the focal for labor-management relations, civil rights, legal and security issues in consultation w/all Staff Offices. Supports and participates in the labor-management partnership process, and fosters a work environment where all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Responsible for the coordination of district management investigations. Demonstrates ability to collaborate w/multiple organizational units; including bargaining unit representatives. Projects to accomplish mission objectives by addressing tactical issues that require cooperation between different facilities, districts, and service units. Ensures coordinated responses by working w/counterparts. Maintains positive working relationship at the appropriate levels of other organizations to enable problem solving at the lowest level. Applies a broad understanding of financial management, project/administrative processes to define, acquire/allocate budget, staff and other resources to accomplish objectives. Fosters continuous improvement of delivery of air traffic services. Reviews and evaluates the performance of operational and support activities to ensure they are aligned w/ATO and FAA goals and objectives, takes corrective action on those issues that affect the efficient operation of the organization. Coordinates action between facilities and identifies creative ways to improve performance. Serves as second-level reviewer for performance evaluations of appropriate subordinate managers and employees in operations/support areas, communicates/reinforces diversity, EEO and programs in all areas of responsibility, including selection, training and transfers. Meets/frequently contacts both internal and external customers ranging from subordinates to foreign government aviation officials. Contacts take place in meetings/conferences or in unplanned situations where the AGM is a designated contact point.
