RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Optical Network Engineer in Carlsbad, CA.
Summary:
The Optical Network Engineer will be working on the design and architecture of the company's core network infrastructure to support our expanding global satellite fleet. You will also work on layer 1 through layer 3 network design, capacity planning, and platform management as well as the design of routes for fiber-based networks including point to point, ring, and path diverse routing.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering to design complex optical networks
8 years of relevant work experience with multi-vendor network equipment to architect complex DWDM systems
Experience with written network implementation design plans and troubleshooting system issues
Knowledge of 100G coherent technology to build long-haul networks
Experience in automation, networks components, and network management systems
Experience working autonomously and demonstrable experience exercising judgment to coordinate key tasks and activities
