Gilead operates in more than 35 countries worldwide, with headquarters in Foster City, California.The USMA Senior Director for HIV Prevention reports directly to the USMA HIV Strategy Executive Director and will serve US Medical Affairs by leading in strategic planning for HIV prevention, specifically the planning for the potential approval of lenacapavir for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).Essential Duties and Job Functions

Leads US HIV prevention strategy and medical tactical planning specific to lenacapavir for PrEP.

Leadership of a remote team of individuals developing and executing on prevention strategy

Seeks out and develops educational opportunities specific to clinical and community implementation of routine sexual health services, inclusive of education on PrEP.

Leads in the development of US-specific launch plans in support of the potential future approval of lenacapavir for PrEP.

Works with the field science workforce to effectively deliver strategy-aligned education and training, while serving as a conduit back to Gilead of insights noted by clinicians and patient partners in the community.

Develops novel medical educational tools and medical symposiums for conferences based on current strategies specific to lenacapavir for PrEP.

Collaborates intimately with other Gilead functions including Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, US Commercial, Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Legal and Medical Governance, to ensure alignment of strategic priorities and educational messaging.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

MD, PhD, PharmD, NP or PA, or other advanced health care degree and 12 + years of relevant work experience in the delivery of clinical services for HIV treatment and/or prevention required.

5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience required.

Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly functioning health-care professionals

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective, positive relationships with internal and external scientific stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategy and translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in plain language.

Excellent strategic and organizational skills to support project management/planning across multiple activities.

Ability to anticipate and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects.

Excellent teamwork skills, both in leading and as part of a cross-functional team

Organized; attention to detail and able to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Able to work with a level of autonomy and independence in a complex cross-functional team matrix.

Must be fully cognizant and adhere to regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements for implementation science and all other Medical Affairs activities.

The salary range for this position is: $274,635.00 - $355,410.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
