You will explain complex information data in a clear and concise manner while ensuring the accuracy of product descriptions. This would be an extremely rewarding role in a fast paced environment with high expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist an aerospace development and testing project
  • Detailed and extensive documentation must be generated for consumption by internal and/or external partner(s)
  • Wide scope of documentation: specifications, procedures (assembly, integration, alignment, test, handling, operational instructions), manufacturing (travelers), plans (verification, validation), reports (test, analysis, demonstration), control (process, non-conformance, cleanliness), technology transfer (all end item data package contents)
  • Role will require regular engagement with the project configuration manager, Product Life Cycle manager, program leadership, software and hardware engineering teams and other program staff as needed
  • Role will require being comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and tolerance of ambiguity
  • Role will require effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Role will require initiative and a level of self-direction to identify problems and proactively help develop and implement solutions

Required Experience:
  • 3+ years as a technical writer and/or technical documentation coordinator
  • Prior experience working directly with technical documentation and technical teams (hardware and software) in an engineering program context
  • 2+ years documentation project management experience

Desirable Experience:
  • Aerospace/Aeronautics or defense documentation experience
  • Prior experience as a documentation lead or other management/leadership experience
  • Familiarity with end-to-end documentation workflows and processes in an engineering program context
  • Prior experience establishing and/or using engineering documentation tools and systems (Solidworks, PDM Pro, Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools)
  • Prior experience establishing and/or using software documentation tools and workflows (GitHub, Markdown)
