Description As a Property Manager for Affordable Housing HAF (Housing Assistance Fund) sites, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of designated affordable housing properties. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that these properties are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and provide a safe and comfortable living environment for residents. This contract role requires expertise within affordable housing and ability to travel to different sites in the Bay Area. Key Responsibilities: Property Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of affordable housing properties, including maintenance, leasing, and resident relations. Coordinate with maintenance staff and vendors to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Monitor property expenses and budgets, ensuring cost-effective management while maintaining quality standards. Tenant Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and resolving issues promptly and professionally. Facilitate communication and enforce lease agreements and community rules to maintain a harmonious living environment. Conduct regular resident meetings and events to foster a sense of community and engagement. Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant affordable housing regulations, including HUD guidelines and local housing authorities' requirements. Maintain accurate resident records, lease agreements, and other documentation as per regulatory standards. Coordinate annual recertification processes and assist residents with subsidy applications as needed. Financial Management: Collect rent payments, process financial transactions accurately, and manage accounts receivable/payable. Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for property owners and management. Monitor rental delinquencies and implement appropriate strategies for rent collection. Property Marketing and Leasing: Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract prospective tenants and maintain high occupancy rates. Conduct property tours, screen potential tenants, and oversee the leasing process in accordance with fair housing laws. Collaborate with marketing teams to create advertising materials and online listings for available units. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or related field preferred. Previous experience in property management, preferably in affordable housing or subsidized housing programs. Strong understanding of affordable housing regulations, including HUD guidelines and Fair Housing laws. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
