Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Paralegal with the ability to perform delegated substantive legal work. 2+ years of family law experience is required. 30-35 hours per week. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, and a commitment to providing exceptional support to both clients and attorneys. The Paralegal/Case Manager will play a critical role in facilitating communication, managing documentation, and ensuring that all legal processes run smoothly.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to:
Manage case files from inception to resolution, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for case preparation.
Perform legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence, while maintaining high standards of proofreading and editing.
Assist attorneys with litigation preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and managing evidence.
Utilize document management systems for efficient filing and retrieval of case documents.
Coordinate with clients regarding case updates and provide executive administrative support as needed. Collaborate with team members on project management tasks to ensure timely completion of case-related activities.
Experience:
Proven experience in a legal environment as a paralegal is required.
Familiarity with family law is required.
Proficiency in legal case management software such as MyCase, Clio, and OneDrive is highly desirable.
Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting and transcription are essential.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated clerical experience including data entry, filing, and document review is required.
