Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionThis Engineering Program Manager role will be responsible for leading teams in the delivery of enhanced medical devices and life science research instrumentation. Successful candidates will bring a combination of technical and engineering acumen together with people skills and agile cross functional project management experience to structure projects, identify and retire risks and deliver successful outcomes.Job Responsibilities:Works with cross functional business leadership to frame and charter engineering projects primarily to enhance and sustain BD’s flow cytometer product line.
Works closely with the project team to develop the work breakdown and project plan and schedule from concept phase through manufacturing release.
Leads cross functional and international teams of varying size and scope to deliver against plans, including R&D engineering, V&V, quality, regulatory, service and operations.
Reports out on project status, escalates and mitigates risk and issues and drives organizational decisions.
Generates documentation to support regulatory filings and internal reports and specifications.
Follows design, quality, and safety guidelines based on GMP, FDA, and ISO guidelines and related BD Quality and Safety Standards and Practices.
Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:BS degree in an Engineering or related scientific discipline. MS is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an engineer in product development or sustaining engineering.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an engineering project or program manager.
Experience working in full lifecycle product development or manufacturing of capital equipment with a preference for medical devices .
Strong technical skills and curiosity are essential.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Formal project management training (e.g. PMP) is a plus.
Direct experience of Agile software development is a plus
Experience of Critical Chain project management methodology is a plus.
