The Geologist/Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for the development and management of all phases of various environmental programs. The qualified candidate will be a hands-on Project Manager, dedicated to completing projects with precision and accuracy. They will participate in the development, planning, oversight, management, and implementation of environmental work related to environmental assessment, remediation, and infrastructure projects. This may include environmental and contamination assessments and remediation projects for state and local government, heavy industry, and retail petroleum clients, permitting and compliance assistance to state, local, and private clients. The successful candidate will profitably and safely manage environmental assessment/compliance/remediation projects to client expectations from proposal through execution to invoicing and be able to effectively mentor less experienced staff. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Manage existing State-wide environmental compliance programs for various retail and telecommunication clients.
Perform as a seller-doer directly affecting the revenue, profitability, cash flow, and repeat business of the company by successfully delivering quality products and services to the client.
Communicate effectively with new or existing clients to build relationships and provide for additional work opportunities.
Organizes and contributes to business development activities; may serve as a key account manager.
Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff.
Provides technical guidance to employees.
Responsible for the oversight of all phases of planning and execution of projects, including pre-bid and proposal preparation, contract and subcontractor management, staff oversight, QA/QC, adherence to health and safety requirement, and project financials.
Establishes and monitors project safety and quality on the programs.
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree required in Engineering, Geology or an applied science; MS preferred.
8+ years of project management and sales experience
Program or project manager experience with commercial, State and Federal/DOD projects of varying size and scopes.
Has accountability for managing financial resources.
Has in-depth expertise in own discipline and knowledge of the related disciplines.
Well versed in State and Federal environmental guidelines.
Ability to successfully lead and coordinate a multi-disciplined team of professionals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well versed in Microsoft products to effectively manage time, schedule, and activity completion specifically, Excel, Project, and Word. Knowledge of database and GIS programs a plus.
Remote (home-based), however candidate should be local to Irvine or San Diego Areas
Professional Registration is preferred (P.E., P.G.)
