Position Overview:
The Driver plays a key role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from the facility, medical appointments, meetings, and other approved destinations. This position requires professionalism, patience, and empathy while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely transport clients to and from appointments, meetings, and treatment-related activities.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues.
Assist clients in and out of vehicles when needed, maintaining dignity and respect.
Monitor client behavior during transport and respond appropriately to ensure safety.
Maintain accurate transportation logs and mileage records.
Follow all traffic laws, facility policies, and state regulations.
Communicate effectively with staff to coordinate schedules and client needs.
Report any incidents or concerns regarding client behavior, safety, or wellbeing.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
Minimum of 21 years of age (in accordance with insurance requirements).
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience working in behavioral health, recovery, or healthcare settings preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and calm demeanor in stressful situations.
Must pass background check and drug screening.
Work Environment:
Local travel within and around the Carlsbad area.
Interaction with clients who may be experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
