Description We are offering a contract opportunity for a Sr. Accountant based in San Francisco, California. The role involves a variety of accounting functions for our non-profit client, including the preparation of financial reports, reconciliation of ledger accounts, and supervision of accounts payable and receivable processes. Responsibilities: Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows Conduct journal entries preparation and ledger accounts reconciliation Participate in the annual budgeting process and year-end closing procedures Prepare audit schedules and actively participate in annual audit field work Oversee the reconciliation of monthly bank, credit card, and investment account statements Supervise and streamline accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Monitor operating cash balance and prepare bi-weekly cash forecasts Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and funder reports Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and organization’s policies, procedures, and contracts Manage records of insurance to ensure complianceRequirements Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant or related field Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated experience with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are essential for data analysis and financial reporting Experience with Month End Close procedures is required Familiarity with QuickBooks for managing and processing financial transactions Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals Strong understanding of business tax requirements and compliance Excellent communication skills for preparing and presenting financial information A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysesRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
