About the Role:

As the Human Resources Generalist, you have the opportunity to shape the growing processes of the HR department and the culture of a growing company! In this rare opportunity, you will serve as a day-to-day resource in all areas of HR, including recruiting, HRIS administration & reporting, benefits administration, onboarding/separations, learning and development efforts, and more. The HR Generalist must have excellent organizational, communication, technical, and leadership skills with the ability to handle a multitude of assignments simultaneously in a fast pace environment. Must be in fluent Spanish.

What You'll Do

Maintain professionalism and live CCA’s core values at all times

Responds to HR and benefits inquiries and escalates to senior HR staff when necessary

Administers various HR programs

Maintains accuracy of benefits enrollments, onboarding, separations, performance evaluations, billing reconciliation, and processes employee leaves of absence.

Supports evaluating, testing, and implementing of various HR software and automation processes

Updates HR standard operating procedures (SOP) and checklists

Assists, leads, and supervises junior HR staff

Prepares separation materials and conducts exit interviews

Processes internal confidential forms and records

Maintains, and, as appropriate, distributes current employee information, policy and procedures manuals, and other communications.

In accordance with procedures, furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies.

Proactively identifies potential issues and communicates these to senior HR staff.

Maintains HR portion of the company’s intranet site.

Inputs and maintains data in our HRIS system and provides reports to HR team, management and other departments as requested.

Acts as a recruitment partner to managers and ensures a positive candidate experience.

Uses a variety of candidate sourcing tools including job boards, referrals, social media, networks, associations, external agencies, etc.

Conducts phone screens and provides input and recommendations to hiring managers and senior HR staff

Perform all other duties as assigned or inherent to the position

What You'll Need to Have

Must be in fluent Spanish

Expert user of Microsoft Office and/or Google’s G suite

Functional knowledge of California cannabis regulations

Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire

Proficiency of the English language, verbal and written format

Critical thinking and the confidence to ask questions and propose other options is critical to one’s success in this position

HRIS experience strongly preferred

High degree of adaptability and resourcefulness

Able to work independently and takes initiative to identify opportunities to help the team and to identify process improvements.

Possesses the organizational skills and sense of urgency to manage a high volume of work amidst priority changes and disruptions

Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy

Excellent written and verbal skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues and projects

Intermediate to advanced level experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Your Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication Studies, or equivalent experience required

3 - 5 years of experience in a HR generalist role preferred (3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources required)

HR Certification preferred (HRCI/SHRM)
