Description We are in search of a Patient Services Specialist to contribute to our healthcare team based in Santa Rosa, California. This role involves maintaining detailed patient records, processing applications, and handling inquiries within the healthcare and social assistance industry. This is a long term contract employment opportunity that offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Accurately process patient registrations and maintain detailed records. Facilitate effective communication amongst all hospital employees to foster a positive working environment. Ensure adherence to registration policies and procedures for patient admissions. Obtain and enter authorizations into Meditech system as required. Attend staff meetings to stay updated and contribute to departmental discussions. Comply with Health Stream and Employee Health requirements. Assist Department Lead and Supervisor as required to ensure efficient operations. Ensure correct and complete information is gathered for Medicare patients. Conduct Quality Assurance to maintain data integrity, including checking for spelling errors and correct patient armbands. Request Copays/Deductibles and Deposits from insured and self-pay patients. Register and release patient valuables without error or complaint. Participate in department problem solving, suggesting improvements, and facilitate changes. Ensure appropriate supply and equipment utilization, maintaining a cost-effective approach. Respond effectively to urgent safety situations, helping to provide a clean, comfortable environment for customers. Maintain a high level of productivity, completing a minimum of 5 registrations hourly. Demonstrate initiative in assisting others and perform other duties based on skill level and training orientation.
