Job Title: Accounting Manager

Dep’t: Headquarters

Reports to: President

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Updated: November 2025

SUMMARY:

The accounting manager will manage the accounting department overseeing all aspects of the company’s financial activities while providing financial information to the president, general manager and board.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage Staff

Hire and terminate employees as appropriate.

Handle reviews and raises for employees

Schedule staff to meet company needs while not overstaffing

Train staff in all aspects of their job responsibilities

Maintain a communications log so that employees are kept up-to-date on company policy, procedural, and process changes and events

Approve payroll twice a month

Run weekly staff meetings

Accounting Duties

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

General Ledger account reconciliation and adjusting entries

Monthly and Year End Processes

Accounts Payable/Receivable

Communicate regularly with President and General Manager

Generate Monthly Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Supplemental Statements

Bank Reconciliation

Manage and forecast cash flow

File and pay Sales and Use Tax and all Property Tax

Work closely with Company CPA to generate all documentation needed for Taxes, by February 15th each year

Oversee special projects

Health and Safety

Hold quarterly safety meetings, document the meeting and send to HR.

Send monthly First Aid Log to HR

Maintain a safe environment for employees

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience managing a staff

Ability to be resourceful and creative in problem-solving

Experience in Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software

Expertise in Excel

Proficient with integrating accounting software applications and Microsoft Office

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Undergraduate Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. Minimum three years of full-charge accounting experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS :

Strong command of the English language
