Payroll Administrator

Condex Corporation is the administrative arm to construction partners seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The Payroll Administrator will also collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.

This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail. This is a mid-level, part-time position with the ability to grow to full-time for the right candidate. Must be able to commit to Monday through Wednesday, hours are flexible, but office hours are generally 8am to 4:30pm. The right candidate is required to be resilient; they cannot be afraid to ask for help as well as to speak up when things are required to complete their tasks.

Responsibilities - including but not limited to:

Process payroll with outside accountants for all employees across multiple companies accurately and on time (weekly basis), ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and bonuses.

Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including hours worked, deductions, PTO and bonuses.

Assist with accounts payable functions and journal entries related to payroll expenses as needed, ensuring timely processing of invoices related to payroll expenses.

Collaborate with the human resources department to address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.

Support corporate accounting functions by providing necessary payroll data for financial reporting.

Support audits by providing necessary documentation and reports related to payroll processes.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect payroll processing.

Union reporting & assist with dispatch requests

Assist with other accounting related tasks as needed

Qualifications

Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.

Experience in payroll admin or a similar accounting role is preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.

Familiarity with debits, credits, and account reconciliation practices.

Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry.

Previous construction related experience preferred

Sage 100 Contractor (AKA Master Builder) experience is a huge plus

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office 365

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Our office is located on one of our equipment yards, so the right person must be OK with dust, dirt, and (during the winter) mud. We are also a dog friendly office; candidate must be ok with dogs. A sense of humor is highly desired!
