THE CLIENT:
Retired research psychologist and author looking for part-time help. Although retired, he maintains many professional and personal relationships with a very active calendar. His favorite activities include going out to lunch, perusing books in the bookstore, people-watching, and having compelling conversations. And of course, music! Particularly jazz and show tunes. Given that he is 90 years old he does experience short-term memory fog. He also goes to the hospital fairly regularly, sometimes for extended stays.
WHO YOU ARE:
A motivated and organized person able to prioritize and multitask. Your friends would describe you as empathic, a good listener, and able to enjoy casual conversations just as much as intellectual ones. You can easily follow directions but are confident in taking the initiative and working independently with little or no direction. Flexibility, communication, and humor are your strengths. You should be able to maintain professionalism and a calm demeanor in times of uncertainty. With age comes memory loss and other hard things and it’s really important to us to find someone who can handle these things with grace and dignity.
