Reporting to the Engineering Division Manager, the Public Infrastructure Grants Analyst works closely with the unit's Senior Engineer overseeing daily direction and work priorities. They work independently, recognizing when to consult with the Senior Engineer and management team. The position works as part of a team to apply for grant funding, develop project documents, and communicate with the public and various stakeholders on the status of projects. This time-limited position is currently funded through June 30, 2029.
The individual selected for this position will have an interest in and ability to research information to write grant applications and secure grant funding. They will be passionate about Public Infrastructure projects and understand that all levels are important in the process from project initiation, project scope, obtaining project funding, and project delivery. In addition, they will be flexible, collaborative, patient and possess many of the following:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience researching, tracking, analyzing, and interpreting data
The ability to present complex project concepts to a variety of audiences
Strong writing, editing, presenting, and community engagement skills
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to follow complex policies and procedures while juggling multiple deadlines
High functioning customer service skills, in order to effectively handle inquiries, coordinate services for various internal and external stakeholders, and maintain collaborative working relationships
The ability to handle frequent interruptions and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Project management experience related to balancing multiple projects with competing deadlines
Experience researching information and drafting funding grants
The ability to present complex project concepts to a variety of audiences
Some previous public project and grant writing experience is desirable
