Seeking Full-Time Recreation Coordinator I - Aquatics

The City of Mill Valley is seeking a self-directed problem- solver with an entrepreneurial spirit, high standards of excellence, and demonstrated commitment to public service and program development. A HS Dipolma or GED equivalent is required for the position, as well as a minimum of two (2) years of experience with increasing responsibility in delivering aquatic programming (including teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding). Desired certifications include: LGI, WSI, WSIT, and CPO/AFO or equivalent of those certifications. If the candidate does not have them, they must have the ability to obtain a combination of these certificates within six months of hire.

  INTERVIEW SCHEDULE

Round 1 will be scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, in person. 

Round 2 will be schedule for Wednesday, January 15, in person.

 ABOUT THE POSITION

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Coordinator I – Aquatics  is an entry-level position that leads the City's Aquatics personnel and provides assistance to the Recreation Supervisor - Aquatics on all related matters. This position also works closely with Recreation Coordinator II- Aquatics to support division goals and activities. See CalOpps.org application for list of essential duties.

The Aquatics & Fitness Center is a 7-day a week operation.

Recreation Coordinator I - Aquatics schedule may include weekday, weekend, early morning and evening shifts. Schedule is subject to change depending on facility and supervisor needs.
