Our nonprofit organization is currently seeking a FT Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team! If you're looking for work where you can make a difference and be a part of a great team this may be the position for you.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings, early mornings and weekends.
SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Marketing department by meeting with external stakeholders to promote Kavod Senior Life. The primary function of this position is managing the Kavod on the Road program, which involves the development, coordination and promotion of recreational, cultural, physical and educational programs, both large and small, to older adults in the greater community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
PROGRAM COORDINATOR:
Leads the development, coordination, and promotion of community-accessible educational, social and entertaining programs and activities.
Works to establish, foster and renew partnerships with area synagogues, community centers, and other like organizations where such programming might be appropriate and beneficial in serving area older adults.
Collaborates with internal and external partners in the development and implementation of above listed programs.
Develops appropriate relationships with older community members who participate in Kavod on the Road to encourage their participation, engagement and satisfaction with outreach activities.
Works creatively to increase attendance and expand the program footprint within the community.
Coordinates Kavod on the Road publications, including collecting and providing program details and descriptions. Works with Marketing Coordinator to finalize materials; keeps track of deadlines and ensures delivery.
EVENT COORDINATION AND SUPPORT:
Leads and coordinates an annual educational one-day conference for older adults in collaboration with agency planning partners, including elements such as site selection, workshop coordination, resource fair and event communications, among other duties.
Attends and supports internal events for Kavod residents as needed.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
Consistently promotes a positive image of the agency in the community; serves as Kavod ambassador within the greater community.
Works to heighten awareness of Kavod Senior Life and overall mission, expanding Kavod’s presence beyond the agency’s main campus.
Participates in various community meetings in developing and implementing new programming as necessary.
Works in collaboration with the internal Kavod Life Enrichment Department to share program ideas, program providers and internal/external program coordination. Handles transportation needs and provides calendar synchronicity with Life Enrichment.
Attends networking events in the community to promote the organization as well as the outreach program.
MARKETING:
Participates with the Marketing team to promote the Kavod brand within the Denver community and within the Denver senior community.
Assists with tasks such as social networking posts, event photography, newsletter article submissions, blogs, proofreading, video production and other duties.
Seeks ways to support internal departments and their marketing needs, including fundraising efforts, market-rate apartment advertising and other promotional needs.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCE:
Manages database of outreach events, including partnership details, registrants, event logistics and other information. Pulls data and reports as needed to help measure program outcomes.
Handles program payments and program donations. Works with Accounting to record, process and receipt appropriately.
Must possess and maintain an active Colorado driver’s license and provide proof of insurance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in coordinating activities/programs and working with diverse groups; possess computer skills including, but not limited to database management, online adaptability and word processing; have basic knowledge of Jewish customs and holidays; and strong written and oral communication skills are imperative. He/she must enjoy working with older adults; be self-directed and comfortable working independently, perform a wide variety of tasks at the same time; and be detail oriented. The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret agency memorandums, policies and procedures, human service journals, financial reports, and related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, families, community members or staff. Ability to write articles for publications and program advertisements that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to write and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
