Summary This position is located in the United States Agency for Global Media within Voice of America, South and Central Asia Division. The incumbent will serve as an International Broadcaster (Digital) (Turkish) and will be responsible for the development and production of daily content on the Service's TV programming and multiple digital platforms. The incumbent serves as Internet writer, reporter, multimedia producer within the office to produce targeted content. Responsibilities As a International Broadcaster (Digital) (Turkish) positions, you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to: Keeps abreast of new developments in digital newsgathering and distribution, including the use of social media as a newsgathering tool. Uses those platforms to generate story ideas, monitor trends, identify sources and interact with audience members. Development and production of content for the TV programming and digital presence, including web and social media. Assures editorial balance and quality in all posted material. Constantly improves and streamlines production processes, reshaping workflow as the situation dictates. Knowledge of the events of the target region. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Screen out factor: Applicant must have fluency in both English and Turkish languages that enables you to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-11 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Mastery of the culture and technology that underlies all social media, and the ability to use those skills in shaping coverage. Experience with both digital and traditional journalism in order to write, edit, and produce balance, highly targeted material for publication on multiple platforms. Thorough knowledge of multiple internal and commercial software systems, and flexibility in adapting to new technology and media. A vast knowledge of Turkish history, economics, culture, and socio-political development. Education Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
