Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to become an integral part of our team in the non-profit sector, based in Atlanta, Georgia. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves managing a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, and potentially handling responsibilities related to grant management.Responsibilities: Coordinate and execute weekly payment requests, including check runs. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial activities. Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts. Process a high volume of invoices efficiently and accurately. Adhere to organizational policies and procedures for all accounting activities. Assist with grant reporting and potentially manage various grants. Prepare and manage billing for grants, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines. Set and manage priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Collaborate with the finance team to support monthly financial close processes as needed. Ensure that all financial transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting. Proficiency in accounting software systems. Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services. Experience with Concur and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools. Strong understanding of accounting functions and accounts payable (AP). Knowledge of accrual accounting. Auditing experience, particularly in a non-profit context. Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
