Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is within the finance industry and involves handling high-volume accounts payable operations, managing vendor databases, and providing support for audits. Key Responsibilities: Accurately process complex invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures Employ Excel formulas and filters to manipulate large datasets, analyze financial data, and create detailed financial reports and statements Perform daily reconciliations of accounts payable transactions Assist with month-end closing and prepare analysis of accounts as requested Coordinate with purchasing department and vendors to verify transaction accuracy Manage vendor database and maintain up-to-date vendor information Perform 3-way match for all payable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of the entries Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues promptly Prepare monthly accounts payable aging reports Support internal and external audits by providing required information and documents Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role Proficiency in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting Strong knowledge of Accounting Software Systems and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Experience with ADP - Financial Services and Accounts Payable (AP) processes Familiarity with Concur and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions Ability to perform Auditing and Accounting Functions Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with Excel Formulas Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
