Your Mission is Ours.Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Opto-Mechanical/Lead Payload Structural Analyst to join the Optical Talent Center. The Optical Talent Center drives advancements in visible-light and infrared systems, missile defense, space exploration, and more. Our team brings experts from across the nation, within Lockheed Martin, our industry partners, and leading research universities into a dynamic, collaborative group.As a structural analyst with a focus on structural analysis, you will be involved in the analysis and specification of optical bench assemblies, optical mounts and fixtures, mechanical ground support equipment, alignment fixtures, and related assets for the development, testing, and manufacturing of optical payloads.This role requires a dedicated, responsible professional who consistently meets deadlines and will: Work under broad guidance from senior engineering and program leadership; Collaborate and contribute across the design team; Mentor and guide junior and emerging engineers; Engage with prospective and selected suppliers; Deliver comprehensive documents and briefings; and Support customer reviews.This role is contingent upon an award win with an anticipated start of October 2024.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in structural analysis of optical subsystems and assemblies, or closely related high-precision equipment. Extensive proficiency with industry-standard structural analysis tools, such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, or NX. US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceDesired Skills: Advanced degree in Engineering or Science. In-depth knowledge or practical expertise in the analysis of space optical payload systems. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday offPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $105,000 - $201,100 .
